Our Mission

At Shared Office Space, we are committed to helping businesses grow. We enjoy watching small businesses flourish just as we have worked over the years at making ours successful. Our goal at SOS is to provide our members with ready-to-go, easy, and safe office solutions without any lag time or compromises. We care about local business growth, our community, and our carbon footprint, which is why we are taking our experience in commercial real-estate to create SOS.

We have adapted to social distancing needs and have changed our design and floor plans. Each office has an N95 air filter where fresh air is pushed through the ceiling and exits through the floor for superior air filtration. We have added additional private offices and distance between desks within our floor plan. Plants fill the space helping clean the air. Janitorial staff cleans throughout the day and cleaning supplies are available to anyone who wants to sanitize their desk or sitting area themselves. We also have fever controlled access in order to help keep viruses out. Our goal is to keep everyone healthy, happy, and productive.

We are devoted to providing the safest office environment possible with our security systems, cameras, and by conducting background checks on every member. Dedicated desks include a lockable file cabinet and private offices have a key lock for confidential information.

We offer mobile check-in at the front door which allows our members  to check-in at anytime, even for an hour or two of work. Our conference booking system allows you to book conference rooms remotely or right at SOS. Meeting rooms include all the needed electronics: TVs, plugs, and conference phones. You can access video conference software such as Zoom, Skype, etc. Capabilities also include casting your personal devices onto a large screen. We have private networks and servers available. As demands grow we will be adding technology services and equipment.

We are devoted to creating a community not only with our members but also by partnering with local universities, chamber of commerce, neighborhood associations, and corporate sponsors to offer opportunities, connections, and help. SOS features event space for continued education, professional networking, job fairs, lunch & learns, seminars, and more. Become a part of a community filled with like-minded people who want the best for the Lansing region.

We are here to serve you, whether you are a freelancer needing coworking space, a professional searching for hoteling office space, or a growing business. An SOS membership is designed to meet your ever-changing business demands and gives you the ability to have a space that fits your needs at all times. Re-configure, grow and adjust to your heart's content without the requirement of a long term lease.

Carbon Footprint

Our office space features natural skylights, solar panels, plants inside and outside the office, and additional energy conservation measures. Our office printers and lights are energy-efficient, and we are using smart devices throughout the space. All of these measures will help reduce our carbon footprint and provide you with a green workspace.

Our History

H inc. DBA Shared Office Space (SOS) is a local property management company that is dedicated to improving the Greater Lansing Area for all.

Established in 1989, H inc. has rehabilitated over 500,000 square feet and was one of the first small business developers to begin the rebirth of Downtown Lansing helping to lift the area and create lasting change. Where other small business developers give up, H incorporated has successfully stepped up to the plate helping to take distressed regions and make them vibrant and desirable again. With successful projects like the Blue Coyote Brewing Company, Ji Case Lofts, Motor Wheel Lofts, 212 East Grand River, and more, H incorporated has averaged between 8 to 15 employees every year. In addition to having a long list of successful projects, H inc. employees and management routinely donate time, resources, and money to the betterment of the Greater Lansing Community and Michigan by volunteering on boards, teaching leadership, cleaning up and beautifying highways, mentoring local youth, donating space, and by donating money to various causes. Lead by resident Harry H Hepler, H inc. is a small business that is proud to be in Lansing.
